Would it make sense to somehow remove those from Spectrum's dependency
tree?  I don't think any of these are things that Spectrum actually
needs.

That might be a larger de-bloating effort, though.  There is no
need to have NetworkManager when the kernel will eventually have IP
networking support removed!
