I have an update to current Nixpkgs staging-next in the work, that should be ready to commit as soon as the staging cycle completes and Nixpkgs unstable updates. staging-next currently contains a lot of fixes that aren't in unstable, so by waiting a week or so for it we can avoid the need for a lot of downstream workarounds. I'll post the patch soon so you can try it out in advance, if you want.
